Hours of duty - Full time Accountable to Registered Nurse in Charge.

Essential Educational Qualifications: Certificate 1V (Nursing). Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Medication endorsement Essential Key Selection Criteria Knowledge of the practicalities of caring for the frail and elderly An enthusiasm for working with the Elderly. A commitment to the notion of resident centred care.

1. The ENROLLED NURSE accepts responsibility and accountability for optimizing care provision through team work and cooperation. KPI Reports and records identified changing needs of the resident. Is committed to ongoing professional development, maintenance of competency and attends staff meetings. Works with the organisational leaders to identify opportunities for improvement in the quality of care. Acts as a mentor to less experienced staff including PCA’s and Enrolled Nursing Students. Develop and maintain good working relationships with all staff. Extend to all people visiting DUGNH, including relatives, friends, clergy and community groups, a courteous and caring attitude. Complies with all organisational policies, procedures and guidelines.

2. The ENROLLED NURSE is accountable for the provision of ‘best’ resident care within the scope of their knowledge base and practise. KPI Within the team manages his/her workload in a way that meets the specific needs of each individual resident. Delivers care in accordance with standards and legislation set by the Aged Care Act and Residential Aged Care Standards. Considers all personal care needs as identified. Fully optimises the partnership between the Resident, DUGNH staff (especially the Registered Nurse) and visiting Health Professionals through accurate and timely management of information. Ensures all relevant care for residents is delivered, documentation and assessments completed. Liaises with the Clinical Managers, Clinical Resource Personnel, and Registered Nursing staff regarding key clinical issues. Support an evidence-based approach to best practice in clinical care.

3. The ENROLLED NURSE is accountable for ensuring residents are assisted to achieve active control of their own lives. KPI Ensures that practice models the organisation’s ideals of quality care. Assists in taking responsibility for identifying the resident’s needs as they relate to maintenance of independence and achieve active control in their lives. Encourages choice and personal decision making when planning care with the resident. 4. The ENROLLED NURSE is accountable for the safety and well-being of resident’s relatives and staff in accordance with all relevant Legislation. KPI Identifies and reports infection control and OH&S risks and facilitates corrective action. works with the Clinical Managers to ensure that the facility is compliant with the requirements of Acts and Principals.

Hours - 72+ Hrs/fn

Salary – $50-70K subject to relevant award

May be required to be in charge of the facility on occasions; will be paid as Acting Nurse Unit Manager/ Out of Hours Supervisor according to rostered shift and level of experience. Monitors the day to day delivery of care to ensure compliance with the Aged Care Act and Residential Aged Care Standards. Acts as a role model in all areas of standard 2. (Health and Personal Care). Fully optimises the partnership between the resident, DUGNH staff and visiting Health Professionals through accurate and timely management of information. Oversees the day to day management of high order clinical issues liaising with the Clinical Resource Personnel as required. Standard Three: Resident Lifestyle

KRA 3. The Registered Nurse is accountable for ensuring residents are assisted to achieve active control of their own lives. KPI The Registered Nurse models the organisation’s ideals of quality care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for ensuring the resident has access to resources that can assist them to maintain their independence and achieve active control in their lives. Standard Four: Physical Environment and Safe Systems

KRA 4. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the safety and wellbeing of residents’ relatives and staff in accordance with all relevant legislation. KPI Identifies infection control and OH&S risks and facilitates corrective action Works with the NUM / ANUMs to ensure that the facility is compliant with the requirements of Acts and Principals

Key Responsibility Areas: Some staff members (following negotiation with the CEO/DON) may take responsibility for one crucial clinical or non-clinical area. The key performance indicators associated with the allocated area of responsibility are attached to the staff member’s performance development document.

CLINICAL SERVICES MANAGER

Darlingford Upper Goulburn Nursing Home is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified professional to undertake this challenging, yet rewarding role as the Clinical Services Manager.

Our team consists of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Attendants, as well as Food, Domestic and Maintenance Service staff, Administrative Assistants and management.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Clinical Services Manager is responsible for the clinical services of the facility.  As the senior nurse in the organisation, this role ensures that clinical leadership is established and espouses Darlingford’s vision, values and strategic objectives.  The role is accountable for the maintenance of professional standards and professional development of the nursing and care staff, ensuring best practice guidelines and person centered care philosophies are followed.

To be considered for this role, you will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (via AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, possess post graduate qualifications in business management or Gerontology (or similar fields), have demonstrable experience at the senior management level within the aged care or the health sector, and exposure to the challenges faced in a small rural or regional aged care or health service.  You will also have demonstrable experience in the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI), Residential Agreements and associated pricing methodology.  In addition to these qualities, you will be a skilled communicator, with outstanding leadership qualities.
