Activities & Lifestyle

Our Activities and Lifestyle team at Darlingford Nursing Home provide activities and entertainment every week day for our residents. These activities focus on individual needs and interests, as well as providing a social outlet for all.  A monthly calendar is created and activities include:

  • Restaurant Dining
  • Video calling to and from remote family
  • Craft Sessions
  • Outings
  • Takeaway Lunch Days
  • Music and Sing Alongs
  • Games such as Scrabble/Bingo
  • Celebration Days e.g. Anzac Day, Christmas
  • Visits from specialised groups e.g. school children
  • Church Services

Darlingford Nursing Home established a fenced area in 2008 at the back of the nursing home to accommodate our miniature ponies. The residents assist in caring for the ponies under supervision. We also receive regular visits from various wildlife including baby wombats, joeys, wallabies and birds, including the spectacular, and cheeky, King Parrots. For the elderly, especially those suffering from social isolation, low self image, poor functioning and lack of purpose in life, care and contact with animals can have a tremendous impact on their well being.
